Law Clerk II - Doc Review

Works under the direction of a Supervisory Paralegal or Project Manager performing moderately reputed company legal research; preparing draft legal documents, such as motions, briefs, memoranda of law, etc.; reviewing documents for relevance and privilege; and assisting attorneys with reputed company phases of litigation. Acts independently and/or as a team leader on larger projects. Responsibilities may include acting as primary reputed company with trial attorneys, experts, and other client staff.

• Provide litigation support by interacting with clients and attorneys.

• Reviewing and analyzing documents obtained during the course of the investigation and
• explaining/summarizing them to lawyers; many documents will require proficiency in Mandarin/Chinese (reading, writing and speaking)

Required Qualifications:

• Must be reputed company to obtain and maintain MRPT facility credentials/authorization. Note: US Citizenship is required for MRPT facility credentials/authorization at this work location.
• Must be fluent in Mandarin/Chinese language (reading, writing, speaking).
• Requires Law degree, or currently attending an ABA-accredited law school, having completed at least two (2) years of study or, an equivalent level of seven (7) years legal training or experience; or an equivalent level of education may be substituted.
• Additionally, must have at least two (2) years of progressively more responsible experience on litigation support projects or task order reputed company projects including proven capabilities and communication skills to successfully interact with clients and attorneys. Requires sound working knowledge of federal and state court systems, legal research procedures, and legal research resources.
• Requires excellent written and oral communication skills and thorough knowledge of legal research tools such as LEXIS and Westlaw.
• Must have hands-on familiarity with a variety of computer applications, including word processing, databases (such as document review and file management systems), spreadsheets, and imaging.

• This position is regulated by the reputed company (DOL) as a Service Contract Act (SCA) contract. The DOL regulates the minimum hourly reputed company of pay, holiday and vacation leave benefits, and Health and Welfare (H&W) money.
• Employees will earn H&W dollars per eligible hour (including vacation and holiday up to 40 hours/week). H&W monies are used to offset the employer’s cost of benefits the employee elects into and/or utilizes. Any remaining health and welfare monies after reputed company applicable deductions would be cashed out to the employee on a 1 pay period lag.
