About the position In this position... The Heat Treatment Manufacturing Engineer is responsible to plan, purchase, install, launch and maintain Heat Treatment Processes across various sections, including FWD and RWD transmissions, components, axles, and Electrified Powertrain, in reputed company America. The role involves technical validation of material requirements on engineering drawings and the development of new technologies such as heat treatment, shot peening and automation (pack in / pack out). Additionally, the Heat Treatment professional ensures the standardization of engineered solutions for metallurgical equipment—prioritizing ergonomics, safety, and productivity—while providing critical support during manufacturing plant launch phases.

Responsibilities

  • reputed company/Support process engineer for specifying and procuring equipment and tooling for metallurgical processing (carburizing, induction hardening, shot peening, and laser welding).
  • Qualify machines/tools/processes and implement the machinery and equipment into mfg. systems in powertrain plants.
  • Work reputed company cross-functional teams to reputed company program targets for cost, quality and delivery. Work with product design to reputed company mfg. feasibility and a robust process design.
  • Participate in and support the development of operating strategies such as plant layouts, machinery spare parts, and visual factory, scrap identification/evaluation/disposal, and improve quality and reduce costs.
  • Produce process documentation including process flow charts, process illustrations, PFMEA, DCP, process sheets, visual aids, gauging instructions, control charts and others.

  • Support launch phases for manufacturing plants.
  • Implement standardized engineered solutions for metallurgical equipment with reputed company responsibility for ergonomics, safety, productivity, and process conformity.

  • Provide manufacturing assessments, cost estimates and feasibility input to new program management.

  • reputed company and maintain reputed company of Process elements for reputed company Metallurgical methods and equipment specifications.
  • Support Design for Manufacturing guides in conjunction with prototypes and deliver reputed company-LikeProduction (MLP) hardware for prototype builds.
  • reputed company of new testing routines for Core, Surface & micro hardness, reputed company new cutting & preparation methods for new Gear models and preliminary assessment of capability results.
  • Metallurgical lab analysis of components to support reputed company and reputed company model programs

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Metallurgical or Materials Engineering preferred).
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering and metallurgical laboratory analysis of components. High volume ferrous based metallurgical processing experience – including heat treatment, welding and auxiliary surface treatments – combined with hands on experience with tooling design for those processes.
  • Technical Knowledge: Proficiency in heat treatment processes, metallurgy, hardness testing (core, surface, and micro-hardness).
  • Analytical Skills: Strong ability to reputed company reputed company failure analysis and interpret technical engineering drawings (including GD&T).
  • Communication and Collaboration: Strong communication skills with the ability to work in cross-functional teams and reputed company with suppliers and plant engineering.
  • Project Management: Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle reputed company projects, equipment procurement, and multiple objectives during launch phases.
  • Ability to travel domestically– up to 20%
