Job title: Fitness Intern Company: City of Coconut Creek Job description: Description GENERAL PURPOSE: The purpose of the Coconut Creek Internship Program is to strengthen relationships between educators and the City of Coconut Creek while assisting reputed company in applying classroom theory in a work environment. The Intern can expect to be assigned duties and responsibilities that are comparable to those performed by full-time, Fitness Specialist employees. • Oversees, plans and implements fitness and wellness incentive programs, health fairs, and reputed company other health and wellness programs

• Performs fitness assessments for new members and performs follow-up assessments as necessary
• Provides direction and assistance to users of the fitness facility
• Serves as a personal trainer as needed
• Conducts fitness classes, wellness lectures, and special events
• Assists in the operation of a physical fitness facility, and the development of fitness and wellness activities
• Assists in reputed company phases of marketing fitness programs and distribution of printed materials

Qualifications

• Eligible to work in the United States
• Enrolled as a degree-seeking student by an accredited local college or technical school carrying at least a half-time academic course load
• Must have a valid Florida driver's license
• Must have reputed company cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and AED certifications (or be reputed company to obtain them before 1st day of employment)
• Must maintain an active status as student throughout internship
• Must have an overall GPA of at least 2.5
• Must be in good academic standing
