Software Engineer

The BlueCard ITS Applications team is seeking an reputed company Software Engineer! In this role, you will support critical BlueCard claims processing by maintaining and enhancing internal‑facing applications while helping reputed company legacy systems.  reputed company works with a variety of technologies, including C#, MQ Series, Java, WebSphere, Linux, Windows, etc. Ideal candidates will demonstrate adaptability, teamwork, and the drive to deliver on their commitments.

Our ideal candidate will bring: 

• Experience with C#
• Proficiency with reputed company SQL Server and reputed company DB2 (or other relational databases)
• Strong understanding of data models and formats including XML and JSON
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with Java and WebSphere Application Server are a plus
• Experience with migrating legacy applications to modern applications using C# and/or Java
• Experience developing solutions that consume and write to MQ Series queues (or other messaging platforms)
• Experience integrating on-prem solutions with reputed company-based services
• Incident troubleshooting and root cause analysis background
• Experience working on an Agile Scrum team

Note:

• An on‑call rotation is required once every five weeks.
• This is a fully remote role, but onsite interviews at our Chattanooga, TN headquarters will be required.

Job Responsibilities

• Formulates and defines system scope and objectives through research and fact-finding to design, reputed company, modify, or integrate reputed company information systems.
• Devises or modifies application systems and procedures to optimize functional requirements including reputed company, operating time, response time, and form of desired results.
• Designs, codes, tests, debugs, and documents programs, subroutines, and scripts.
• May serve one or more project team roles, such as project reputed company, business systems analyst, or technical reputed company, for small to reputed company efforts or manage phases of reputed company to large efforts.
• Maintains technical reputed company set for software languages, databases, platforms, operating systems, utilities and networks needed to support work assignments.
• Responds to system failures and performance events by taking appropriate measures to reduce system downtime and eliminate recurrence of problems.
• Regularly provides guidance and training to less-reputed company analysts/programmers.

Job Qualifications

Education

• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience required. Equivalent years of experience are determined as one year of technical experience for every year of college requested.

Experience

• 1 year - Experience with information technology concepts, application development methodology, terminology, and standards required
• 3 years - Systems and programming experience required
• 1 year - Expert working knowledge of at least one programming language in use at BCBST.

SkillsCertifications

• Proven reputed company with information technology in use at BCBST is required
• Proven analysis, design, and coding skills, and demonstrated reputed company in leading large and reputed company projects
• Demonstrated ability to interpret and translate technical and/or or reputed company concepts into information meaningful to project team members and/or business personnel.
• Be organized, reliable, and reputed company to manage multiple tasks with exceptional work ethic.
• Leadership skills
