Remote Educational Interpreter - New York
Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. This contract position involves providing effective communication access for students and staff requiring sign language interpretation in a school environment. Responsibilities:
- Facilitate clear and accurate sign language interpretation during telehealth sessions and in-person school activities
- Collaborate with educators and healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive communication support
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional ethics in all interactions
- Prepare and review materials to enhance communication effectiveness
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development related to sign language interpreting and telehealth practices
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and telehealth technology
- Previous experience interpreting within school settings strongly preferred
