Conduct audits of tax returns, financial records, and other documents to ensure compliance with state tax laws and regulations. Analyze and interpret financial data to identify potential discrepancies or errors. Prepare and maintain accurate audit reports and documentation. Collaborate with other team members to review and evaluate audit findings. Communicate audit findings and recommendations to taxpayers and/or their representatives. Assist in developing and implementing audit procedures and guidelines. Stay up-to-date on changes in tax laws and regulations to ensure accuracy and compliance in audits. Maintain confidentiality of taxpayer information and adhere to ethical standards. Provide excellent customer service to taxpayers and effectively address any questions or concerns they may have. Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge. Assist in special projects and initiatives as assigned by management. Adhere to deadlines and manage workload in a timely and efficient manner. Represent the department in a professional and positive manner at all times.
