Experienced MEP CAD Drafter
MEP CAD Drafter Needed — Cleanroom & Controlled Environment Projects We are looking for an experienced AutoCAD MEP Drafter, who is able to work along side our Staff professional engineer (P.E.) to take his calculations and MEP design and translate them to AutoCAD MEP Drawings. What you'll do You'll receive the Staff Engineer PE's markups, calculations, equipment selections, and site survey information, and turn them into a complete, coordinated MEP drawing set. Typical deliverables include mechanical, electrical, and plumbing plans, schedules, single-line diagrams, control diagrams, and details. Final output is a clean, plotted PDF set ready for permit submission and construction. Required experience - Strong AutoCAD proficiency - Demonstrated background drafting MEP construction documents - Direct experience with cleanroom or controlled-environment projects (pharmacy compounding, life sciences, semiconductor, medical device, or similar) - Familiarity with how cleanroom MEP differs from standard commercial work: pressure cascade diagrams, HEPA terminal layouts, return air strategies, dedicated exhaust, sealed penetrations, and the higher level of detail these projects demand - Comfortable working from hand markups, redlines, and reference backgrounds - Able to set up CAD backgrounds from architectural files when needed - Familiarity with US drafting standards, layering conventions, and typical sheet organization for MEP sets - Reliable communication and ability to turn around revisions promptly Nice to have - Experience with projects in multiple US jurisdictions - Familiarity with NYC project conventions (a portion of my work is local) - Experience producing schedules, control sequences, and detail callouts, not just plans Project structure Work will be assigned on a per-project basis with potential for an ongoing relationship if the fit is right. You will work along side with our staff PE who will direct and guide the overall design and scope of the project. Apply To This Job
