Join arenaflex: Where Innovation Meets Customer Success in the Cloud Era

Are you a technically gifted problem solver who thrives at the intersection of customer engagement, cloud architecture, and strategic consulting? arenaflex, a recognized leader in next-generation cloud infrastructure and digital transformation services, is expanding its global Customer Engineering team and is looking for a passionate, customer-obsessed Senior Customer Engineer – Cloud Solutions & Technical Advisory Specialist to join us in a fully remote capacity.

At arenaflex, we believe the cloud is more than just a platform — it is the foundation upon which modern enterprises build, scale, and innovate. We partner with forward-thinking organizations, educational institutions, government agencies, and ambitious startups across more than 200 countries and territories, helping them unlock the full potential of distributed computing, containerized workloads, and enterprise-grade cloud services. As a Customer Engineer with arenaflex, you will be the trusted technical advisor who turns complex challenges into elegant, scalable solutions — and helps shape the future of cloud adoption for our customers worldwide.

This is not a typical customer support role. This is a high-impact, customer-facing engineering position where you will collaborate directly with decision-makers, architects, and technical leads at some of the most exciting organizations in the world. If you love deep technical conversations, enjoy traveling occasionally to meet clients, and want to make a measurable difference in how businesses operate, this opportunity is built for you.

Position Overview

As a Customer Engineer at arenaflex, you will serve as a trusted technical advisor to our prospects and existing customers, helping them maximize the value of the arenaflex Cloud Platform. You will partner closely with the sales organization to drive opportunities forward, optimize for sustainable growth, and ensure customer success through expert-level technical guidance. You will also liaise with product management and engineering teams internally, keeping a sharp eye on emerging industry trends and feeding customer insights back into the product roadmap to continuously improve the arenaflex platform.

Reporting into the Customer Engineering leadership team, this is a full-time, fully remote position based in the United States, with occasional travel (up to 25%) for customer site visits, conferences, and team events. If you are located in or near Virginia — or anywhere in the U.S. with reliable high-speed internet — we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Discovery & Solution Design: Lead in-depth technical discovery sessions with prospective and current customers, working with arenaflex Cloud Platform products to demonstrate and model integrations within real customer and partner environments.
  • Product Messaging & Demonstrations: Prepare, refine, and deliver compelling product messaging designed to highlight the arenaflex Cloud Platform offering and its unique differentiators — including whiteboarding sessions, slide presentations, product demonstrations, white papers, proof-of-concept management, and detailed responses to requests for information (RFIs/RFPs).
  • Architecture & Integration Strategy: Investigate customer environments and craft thoughtful recommendations on integration strategies, enterprise architectures, platforms, and application infrastructure required to implement a complete and successful cloud solution.
  • Customer Advocacy: Act as the voice of the customer within arenaflex, working with product marketing management and engineering teams to stay ahead of industry trends and continuously enhance the arenaflex Cloud product portfolio.
  • Pre-Sales Engineering Support: Partner with the sales team to qualify opportunities, scope technical requirements, and design tailored solutions that address the unique business challenges of each customer.
  • Proof-of-Concept Leadership: Lead hands-on technical engagements, including pilots, trials, and benchmark tests, to validate arenaflex Cloud Platform capabilities and accelerate customer decision-making.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with engineering, product, support, and marketing teams to ensure customer feedback is incorporated into product improvements and to deliver seamless end-to-end customer experiences.
  • Thought Leadership: Represent arenaflex at industry events, conferences, webinars, and customer meetups — sharing best practices, technical deep dives, and insights into the future of cloud computing.
  • Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: Contribute to internal knowledge bases, technical playbooks, and reusable solution patterns that empower the broader arenaflex Customer Engineering community.
  • Travel & Customer Engagement: Attend customer sites, industry conferences, and other related events up to 25% of the time, as business needs dictate.

Minimum (Required) Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field — or equivalent practical experience.
  • Technical Sales / Customer-Facing Experience: Proven experience in a technical pre-sales engineering role, solutions architecture, or a customer-facing technical position within a distributed computing environment.
  • Application Development Background: Hands-on experience with both legacy and modern application development, cloud service delivery, and solution deployment.
  • Containerization Expertise: Working knowledge of containers and related technologies, including Docker and at least one container orchestration platform.

Preferred (Nice-to-Have) Qualifications

  • Advanced Networking & Infrastructure: Deep experience with advanced networking concepts, Linux systems, software-defined networking (SDN), virtualization, open protocols, application acceleration, load balancing, DNS, VPNs, and large-scale VMware deployments.
  • Modern Architecture Design: Hands-on experience designing scalable architectures using API management, microservice frameworks, and Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) / Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) technologies.
  • Container Orchestration Mastery: Deep familiarity with container orchestration systems such as Kubernetes, OpenShift, Cloud Foundry, or similar platforms.
  • Cloud-Native Development: Experience with cloud-native software development methodologies, including CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and modern application deployment platforms.
  • Observability & Monitoring: Experience with logging, monitoring, and observability tools in hybrid cloud environments.
  • Continuous Learning Mindset: Demonstrated ability to quickly learn, evaluate, and apply emerging technologies, methodologies, and solutions within the cloud and IT innovation space.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Outstanding written, verbal, and presentation skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for both technical and executive audiences.

Essential Skills & Competencies for Success

  • Customer Obsession: A genuine passion for understanding customer pain points and delivering solutions that create measurable business value.
  • Technical Depth: Broad and deep technical knowledge spanning cloud platforms, infrastructure, networking, application development, and modern DevOps practices.
  • Problem-Solving Prowess: The ability to break down complex, ambiguous customer challenges into well-structured, actionable technical solutions.
  • Storytelling & Presentation Skills: Comfort presenting in front of C-level executives, technical architects, and business stakeholders with equal confidence.
  • Collaboration & Influence: Strong cross-functional collaboration skills with the ability to influence without authority across sales, engineering, product, and support teams.
  • Adaptability & Agility: Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment where priorities can shift and new challenges arise daily.
  • Self-Direction & Accountability: A proactive, self-starter mentality with strong ownership of customer outcomes.
