As a Senior Data Engineer at arenaflex, you will be at the heart of our Revenue & Planning Innovation team, shaping the data architecture that fuels strategic decision‑making across the company. You’ll collaborate with cross‑functional product owners, data scientists, and DevOps engineers to design, build, and maintain robust data pipelines that power everything from flight scheduling to customer experience analytics.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner closely with source data application teams and product owners to design, implement, and support data solutions that deliver actionable insights.
• Develop and maintain data ingestion pipelines using Azure services such as Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Event Hub, and Azure Databricks.
• Architect end‑to‑end data flows covering planning, cloud design (framework, organization, security, and governance), ingestion, preparation, data serving, testing, CI/CD pipelines, performance tuning, and monitoring.
• Drive the creation of reusable data models, curated data layers, and self‑service analytics environments for business users.
• Lead the implementation of best‑practice coding standards, security policies, and data governance frameworks.
• Mentor junior engineers and data professionals, fostering a culture of continuous learning and collaboration.
• Participate actively in a DevOps‑centric team that owns the full lifecycle of data products, from development through production support.
• Continuously evaluate emerging technologies and recommend enhancements to our data platform stack.

Essential Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Experience: Minimum 3 years of professional experience developing data pipelines using agile and DevOps methodologies.
• SQL Expertise: Proven ability to write complex SQL queries for data analysis and transformation.
• Programming Skills: Proficiency in Python, Java, or Scala, with a solid understanding of object‑oriented design.
• Data Platform Knowledge: Hands‑on experience with Azure cloud services (Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse, Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Event Hub) and on‑premise technologies such as Teradata, Cassandra, MongoDB, Snowflake, or similar.
• CI/CD Tools: Familiarity with GitHub, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, Terraform, and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• BI & Visualization: Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools for delivering business insights.
