Role Overview

The Senior Data Entry & Server Farm IT Infrastructure Specialist is a hands‑on technical professional responsible for receiving, installing, configuring, and maintaining server‑grade hardware, networking equipment, and cabling infrastructure. Key Responsibilities

  • Hardware Receiving & Installation: Unpack, inventory, and rack server, storage, and networking equipment according to detailed work orders.
  • Resource Management: Track hardware assets, perform regular stock audits, and coordinate procurement and delivery of components.
  • Cabling & Connectivity: Install and label fiber (single‑mode, multi‑mode) and copper (Cat5e, Cat6) cabling per arenaflex guidelines, ensuring proper documentation and naming conventions.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Replace DIMMs, hard drives, power supplies, and other components; perform routine health checks on servers, storage arrays, and network switches.

  • Technical Support: Provide Tier‑1/2 support for data‑center floor activities, including PC imaging, printer support, user account provisioning, and basic network troubleshooting.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with internal engineering teams, external vendors, and telecom carriers to resolve circuit issues and coordinate equipment de‑commissioning.
  • Compliance & Safety: Adhere to safety protocols, lift and move equipment up to 50 lb, and operate server lifts, floor jacks, and step ladders safely.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify process gaps, suggest automation opportunities, and contribute to the evolution of arenaflex’s data‑center operational best practices.

Essential Qualifications

  • Solid understanding of server hardware, storage systems, and networking fundamentals (switches, routers, VLANs).
  • Proficiency with ticketing platforms, ITIL change‑control processes, and documentation standards.
  • Ability to lift and maneuver equipment up to 50 lb, climb ladders, and work on raised platforms safely.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to convey technical information clearly to both technical and non‑technical audiences.

Preferred Qualifications & Certifications

  • BICSI Installer 1 certification.
  • Experience with fiber optic testing equipment (OTDR, power meter) and copper certification tools.
  • Familiarity with data‑center cooling, power redundancy, and airflow management concepts.
  • Knowledge of virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper‑V) and cloud infrastructure basics.
  • Prior exposure to large‑scale IT service management (ITSM) tools such as ServiceNow or Remedy.
