Tech Data Analyst I – Strategic Planning, Business Operations & Insights

Work from home Full-time role Hiring

Shape the Future of Global Entertainment at arenaflex

At arenaflex, we believe that data is more than numbers on a dashboard — it is the lifeblood of every strategic decision, every creative breakthrough, and every unforgettable moment we deliver to audiences around the world. We are reimagining how entertainment, sports, and digital media are produced, distributed, and consumed, and we are searching for a curious, analytical, and driven Tech Data Analyst I to join our Business Operations team within the Technology Planning and Analysis group. If you are passionate about turning complex data into clear narratives, building tools that empower decision-makers, and working at the intersection of technology, media, and innovation, this opportunity is designed for you.

This is a full-time, entry-level data analyst position with a focus on strategic planning, technology roadmap analytics, and cross-functional partnership. The role is ideal for early-career professionals who hold a bachelor's degree, love working with data, and want to grow within a forward-thinking organization that values curiosity, ownership, and meaningful impact. While the original posting referenced an annual compensation range of $70–$80 (a figure that appears to be inaccurate for a U.S.-based analyst role), the realistic hiring range for this position in California is approximately $77,300 to $103,600 per year, based on a standard 40-hour work week, with potential bonuses, long-term incentive units, and a comprehensive benefits package.

About arenaflex and the Industry We Serve

arenaflex operates in one of the most dynamic and competitive sectors in the world: digital media, streaming, sports entertainment, and global content distribution. Our ecosystem includes direct-to-consumer streaming platforms, broadcast networks, digital advertising systems, and live sports experiences that reach millions of people every single day. As a member of our team, you will help build the analytical foundation that supports business strategy, technology investment decisions, and long-range planning across the entire organization.

We are not just building products — we are building the future of how the world experiences entertainment and sports. From immersive streaming experiences to real-time advertising optimization, our work influences what audiences see, how they discover content, and how creators and partners are supported. By joining arenaflex, you become part of a global team committed to excellence, innovation, and storytelling that moves people.

Key Responsibilities

As a Tech Data Analyst I on the Business Operations team, you will serve as a trusted analytical partner to leaders across engineering, product, design, operations, and finance. Your day-to-day work will blend technical data analysis, strategic thinking, and cross-functional collaboration. Core responsibilities include:

  • Data Integration and Modeling: Collect, clean, and integrate data from multiple sources to build multivariate analytical structures that inform organization-wide decisions.
  • Dashboard and Tool Development: Design, build, and deploy intuitive dashboards, visualizations, and self-service tools using platforms such as Tableau, Looker, or similar business intelligence solutions.
  • Strategic Decision Frameworks: Develop frameworks and models that help leadership evaluate trade-offs, prioritize initiatives, and forecast outcomes related to cost, sequencing, and dependencies.
  • Automation and Scripting: Write and maintain scripts in SQL, Python, R, or similar languages to automate recurring analyses, improve data quality, and scale reporting capabilities.
  • Goal Setting and Metrics Definition: Partner with stakeholders to define measurable objectives, key results (OKRs), and success metrics that align with business strategy.
  • Technology Roadmap Stewardship: Track, report, and communicate the status of initiatives on the technology roadmap, ensuring transparency and alignment across teams.
  • Cross-Functional Partnership: Collaborate with engineering, product, finance, and operations teams to translate business requirements into clear analytical deliverables.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Present findings, insights, and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences with clarity and confidence.

Required Qualifications and Skills

We are seeking candidates who combine strong analytical ability with a genuine curiosity about how technology, media, and business intersect. To be successful in this role, you should bring:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related quantitative field (equivalent work experience will also be considered).
  • Hands-on experience with data analysis, data manipulation, and data management — ideally within a quantitative or data-heavy role.
  • Working knowledge of programming and querying languages such as SQL, Python, or R.
  • Experience building dashboards and visualizations using tools like Tableau, Looker, Power BI, or equivalent platforms.
  • Familiarity with database querying, data warehousing concepts, and best practices for data governance.
  • A demonstrated understanding of various technologies, platforms, and ecosystems, and an ability to collaborate effectively across disciplines.
  • Experience partnering with engineering and operational teams to develop, launch, and iterate on products or features.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
  • A self-starter mindset, with strong strategic thinking, sound judgment, and a track record of delivering high-quality work on time.
  • A customer-first attitude, with thoughtful opinions about user experience and end-user satisfaction.
  • Intellectual curiosity, creativity, and a willingness to dive deep into details to solve challenging problems.

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following experiences will help you stand out as a candidate:

  • Prior experience in Technology, Media, or Telecommunications (TMT) — particularly in product management, consulting, or strategy roles.
  • Understanding of the online video ecosystem, digital advertising, or media technology landscapes.
  • Exposure to financial modeling, cost analysis, or technology planning frameworks.
  • Experience working in fast-paced, matrixed organizations with multiple stakeholders.

Skills and Competencies for Success

Beyond technical know-how, success in this role requires a blend of analytical rigor, business acumen, and interpersonal effectiveness. We look for candidates who demonstrate:

  • Analytical Thinking: The ability to break down complex problems, identify patterns, and generate actionable insights.
  • Strategic Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and inform senior stakeholders.
  • Ownership and Accountability: A proactive, self-directed approach to managing projects from start to finish.
  • Adaptability: Comfort operating in ambiguity and adjusting to evolving business priorities.
  • Collaboration: A team-first attitude with the ability to build trust and credibility across functions.
  • Attention to Detail: A commitment to data accuracy, quality, and integrity in all deliverables.
  • Continuous Learning: A growth mindset and a passion for staying current on emerging tools, technologies, and industry trends.

Career Growth and Learning Opportunities

At arenaflex, career development is not a benefit — it is a strategic priority. From your first day, you will be paired with mentors and leaders who are invested in your growth. We offer structured onboarding, ongoing training programs, access to professional development resources, and clear pathways into more senior analytical, product, or strategy roles. As the organization expands its global footprint, high-performing team members have the opportunity to grow into roles with greater scope, leadership responsibility, and cross-organizational influence.

You will gain exposure to a wide range of business functions, including technology planning, product development, financial operations, and strategic forecasting — giving you a well-rounded foundation for a long-term career in data, technology, or media.
