Customer/1 CSS Developer
CTG is seeking an experienced Customer/1 CSS Developer to support a leading client in the energy and utilities industry. This role requires deep expertise in Customer/1 Customer Service Systems (CSS), with a strong focus on Service Orders, Billing, Finance, and Mainframe application development within IBM zOS environments. Location: Remote Duration: 9 months
Key Responsibilities
Analyze, design, develop, and support Customer/1 CSS applications and enhancements. Develop and maintain Service Order, Billing, and Finance modules. Perform coding, unit testing, regression testing, and deployment support. Collaborate with business stakeholders and technical teams to troubleshoot and resolve application issues. Support application lifecycle management, documentation, and production deployments. Work within IBM Mainframe zOS environments using COBOL, JCL, DB2, SQL, and C. Required Skills Deep expertise with Customer/1 CSS applications. Strong utility/energy industry experience. Hands-on development experience with COBOL, JCL, DB2, SQL, and C. Knowledge of IBM Mainframe zOS technologies including VSAM, REXX, and TSO/ISPF. Strong understanding of Service Orders, Billing, and Finance functional areas. Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
Nice to Have
Experience with JIRA, Xray, DBeaver, ITT, and Migtrax. Familiarity with CICS, IMS-DC, IMS-DB, PL/1, or Assembler. Experience supporting enterprise-scale utility systems. Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field preferred. Equivalent experience will be considered. Proven experience supporting and developing Customer/1 CSS applications in Mainframe environments. Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required. The expected base salary for this position ranges from $48.00 to $53.00/hour. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained.
