Akamai's Next Generation portal enhances end-user interaction with Akamai solutions. Deliver a platform enabling Akamai and third parties to create innovative products and features efficiently within a distributed development framework. As a Principal Software Development Engineer in Test, you will be responsible for: Designing and implementing comprehensive test automation frameworks to ensure high-quality software delivery and seamless integration across systems. Designing and implementing robust automation frameworks to improve software testing efficiency, reliability, and scalability across multiple platforms and environments. Scaling UI & API Automation Frameworks: Own, design, and mature robust, scalable automation architectures using Python, Playwright, and Selenium for ecosystems. Promoting Shift-Left Engineering: Designing and developing custom testing tools, utilities, and dashboards to integrate seamlessly into CI/CD pipelines, enhancing defect detection. Architecting Performance & Load Strategies: Define the blueprint, solutions, and infrastructure needed for comprehensive performance, load, and high-scale customer-focused testing. Providing technical mentorship to the QA engineering community, establishing best practices, and collaborating with Dev and Product Architects for quality design. Coordinating global teams by aligning and syncing testing efforts across US and India, enabling seamless handovers and continuous delivery. Do what you love To be successful in this role you will: Have 15+ years of experience in Software Quality Engineering with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Be expertise in Python-based automation framework development, UI automation (Playwright, Selenium), and API testing for RESTful and GraphQL services. Be experienced designing scalable, reusable, and enterprise-grade test automation architectures across multiple product lines. Have background in integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab) and implementing Shift-Left testing practices throughout the SDLC. Lead code reviews and provide feedback on testability, maintainability, and adherence to best practices. Be able to drive AI-enabled QA strategies, including intelligent test generation, predictive defect analysis, and self-healing automation frameworks.
