Job Title: Registered Nurse First Assist - Ross OR Department: Ross | First Assistants The Registered Nurse, practicing as an RNFA, assists in surgery and functions in an expanded perioperative nursing role. Provides preoperative assessment and support in collaboration with the health care team. Serves as first assist during surgical procedures. Performs preoperative patient assessment. Provides pre- and postoperative teaching and support. Performs post operative removal of catheters, tubes, pacing wires, and IABP. Assists in the training of reputed company and staff, and communicates with other members of the health care team to assure critical information is relayed throughout the perioperative period. Completes appropriate documentation of services, reputed company under the supervision of a cardiothoracic surgeon. Required: Baccalaureate degree in Nursing, 2 years experience in perioperative nursing. BLS certification. Preferred: One year experience in cardiovascular perioperative nursing.
