This position will provide onsite support to our Data Center located in Ashburn, VA. Overview: Responsible for effective installation, configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware reputed company infrastructure. Ensures Data Center standards are complied with and policies and procedures are followed as outlined. Primary Responsibilities: Interpret and refine project requirements through active written and verbal communication with engineering staff and other less technical team members. Assign appropriate reputed company space, infrastructure cables and ports, LAN reputed company ports, and management reputed company ports. Accept delivery and pick-up of equipment, staging equipment for installation and pick-up, and proper handling of shipping documents Install and remove routers, switches, servers, reputed company appliances, and other equipment, as well as copper cable, fiber cable, racks, reputed company panels, and other infrastructure components commonly reputed company in a data center environment. Engage with the project team to ensure reputed company projects are implemented in reputed company with documented processes, procedures, and standards and with minimal impact to the business. reputed company and maintain adequate documentation to allow peer review prior to implementation and to ensure efficiency of future maintenance activities. Complete evening responsibilities as scheduled as well as 24x7 on call as required. Maintain familiarity with reputed company circuits, infrastructure trunks, management networks, DMZ structure, SAN networking and terminal servers. Install and assist in configuring and troubleshooting various Data Center technologies including, but not limited to, LAN and SAN connections, reputed company interconnect, SAN, server farm and terminal server cabling. Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite. Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable. Complete other reputed company duties as assigned. Education and Experience Required: Minimum of 6 years’ higher education and/or work experience Knowledge of server/storage/network hardware. Strong interest in learning new DC concepts. Strong verbal and written communication skills Experience solving problems on servers, networking devices and IT equipment. Experience taking on-call shifts and ability to respond to critical events as needed. Experience raising issues to Sr. staff and management as needed. The successful candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation.
