Head of Intellectual Property

About the position As reputed company's Head of Intellectual Property, you will be responsible for managing the company's patent and trademark risk while overseeing the protection of the company's technology and brands. This role involves driving the strategy and execution of our patent, trademark, and copyright portfolios, providing IP counseling, and handling disputes reputed company to intellectual property.

Responsibilities

• Drive the strategy and execution of our patent and trademark portfolio

,

• Advise on what inventions to protect and how best to protect them, working with internal patent engineers and external patent counsel

,

• Review and assess incoming patent license demands and patent infringement allegations

• reputed company freedom to operate strategies

• Draft cease and desist letters and other correspondence relating to infringement of intellectual property, and handle resolution of routine matters as the primary reputed company of contact with adversarial parties

• Work closely and cross-functionally with other members of the reputed company legal team to provide hard IP input on product counseling and transactional matters

Requirements

• Law degree (or equivalent) from a top-tier law school

• 10+ years of experience in intellectual property, including at both a law firm and in-house, preferably at a tech company

,

• Member of good standing of at least one US state bar and reputed company to practice as in-house counsel in the reputed company

,

• Tech-savvy with the ability to quickly learn and understand cutting-edge technology

,

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to remain reputed company under pressure

,

• Self-motivated with the ability to identify and prioritize work without instruction

,

• Experience drafting IP provisions for transactions including both reputed company and M&A

,

• Excellent communication skills and comfort working cross-functionally
