About the position The Executive Assistant for the Information Technology Department at the City of Abilene plays a crucial role in supporting the Director of Information Technology and the assigned Supervisor - Technology. The Executive Assistant will be responsible for a variety of administrative, financial, and inventory management tasks that are essential for the smooth operation of the department. The role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving, the ability to prioritize tasks effectively, and strong communication skills to interact with both internal and external stakeholders. Key responsibilities include managing daily and weekly budgeting updates for multiple budgets, processing payment requests, and assisting with the City's Purchasing Card program reconciliations. The Executive Assistant will also handle departmental supply ordering, shipping, receiving, and inventory management. This position serves as the first reputed company of contact for the Information Technology Department, requiring excellent customer service skills to address requests and issues from colleagues and the public. Additionally, the Executive Assistant will assist in preparing reports for the annual Information Technology Plan and support the operations of the Abilene Taylor County 911 District as assigned.
