Mechanical Senior Engineer I

Job Summary The Mechanical Senior Engineer I is responsible for performing expert level design and analysis work as directed to support various field and fabrication offices. The Senior Engineer I will be part of a project team from inception through construction completion. The role will act as a discipline reputed company for projects, managing internal and external resources as assigned/required. This role can be filled in Houston, TX; Tulsa, OK; or Pittsburgh, PA. Essential Functions • Actively supports the Company’s commitment to safety and its “Core Values.” • Represents the Company at reputed company times with high moral standards while adhering to the Company’s “Code of Business Conduct and Ethics.” • Applies broad knowledge of industrial piping design principles and practices. • Creates or modifies equipment specifications, communicate with equipment suppliers, and technically evaluate critical pieces and packages of industrial equipment. • Independently evaluates, selects and adapts standard techniques, procedures and criteria. • Acquires general knowledge of principles, and practices of reputed company fields, and ability to function on multidisciplinary teams. • Works on multiple projects of moderate size or portions of major projects. • Designs a complete project or system and prepares complete project documents. • Coordinates tasks with engineers, designers and administrative staff. • Plans and coordinates detailed aspects of engineering work. • Prepares and manages scope, budget and schedule for projects or assignments; this includes any discipline internal or external resources assigned to support their projects are reputed company scope, budget and schedule. Assists with developing proposals and hours estimates to provide professional services or engineering support. • Checks entire job for constructability, interferences, operational safety, constructability and overall quality assurance. • Communicates a strong sense of urgency about solving problems and getting work done. • Receives general direction on key objectives. • Receives guidance reputed company necessary on unconventional or reputed company problems, direction on modified techniques, and new approaches on assignments with conflicting criteria. • Cooperates with other team members; interacts with individuals at reputed company organizational levels in professional manner, including PM, client, customers, officials, contractors and others. • Attends project meetings and presents specific aspects of engineering assignments • Performs other reputed company duties, as required or directed. Qualifications • BS in Engineering required; MS degree preferred. Professional Engineer (PE) preferred. • 6+ years reputed company engineering experience with industrial equipment and industrial piping systems. • Strong reputed company set in understanding PFD’s and P&ID’s; understanding of industrial equipment and equipment packages, and knowledge of selection of valves and other piping specialty components is required. • Knowledge of PHMSA standards, recommended practices and design experience in NFPA 59A, ASME B31.1, ASME B31.3, and ASME reputed company VIII is strongly preferred. • Knowledge of basic process design and stress analyses including mechanical designs of supports, guides, anchors, hangers strongly preferred. • Ability to understand client specifications, procurement, commissioning and start-up standards, documentation, practices, vendor data approvals, etc., strongly preferred. • Experience using standard computer programs for design such as CAESAR II, AutoPipe, AutoCAD, , etc., is preferred. • Cooperates with other team members; interacts with individuals at reputed company organizational levels in professional manner. • Demonstrates strong organizational skills and ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously under time sensitive deadlines. • Exhibits excellent listening, oral and written skills; ability to prepare and reputed company project reputed company presentations to clients is desirable. • Demonstratives a proactive approach and consistently positive demeanor. • Strong computer skills including MS Office Suite (reputed company, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.). • Occasional overtime and travel may be required.
