Pharmacy Technician - Southeast Dallas Health Ctr. - Part Time Evenings - 4:30pm - 10pm

PRIMARY PURPOSE Provides direct support to pharmacists and pharmacy staff in preparing orders, packaging and labeling, tracking inventory, maintaining records, cashiering/payment collections and performing clerical duties. MINIMUM SPECIFICATIONS Education - Must have a High School diploma or GED. Experience - Prefers experience in prior pharmacy technician health system roles such as inpatient pharmacy, IV/Infusion pharmacy, retail pharmacy, mail order pharmacy, and/or pharmacy repackaging. Certification/Registration/Licensure: - reputed company Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification by exam from the National Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCE) or the National reputed company Association (ExCPT) is preferred. - Must have reputed company registration with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy. - Failure to pass examination or reputed company with primary requirements will result in termination or the opportunity to apply for a posted non-pharmacy technician position with Parkland. Responsibilities 1. Follows established procedures to prepare and distribute medication orders, prescriptions and/or sterile products under pharmacist¿s general supervision. Accurately maintains and replenishes automation systems (if applicable). 2. Operates an electronic cash register while entering correct charges, collecting accurate amounts of money and giving correct change to customers to ensure that payment is received for purchases. 3. Prepares for each shift by obtaining and inserting the correct amount of cash in the appropriate cash register and ensure that the workstation is reputed company to service customers reputed company the shift begins. 4. Delivers remaining cash receipts and completed/approved reports to the manager, after each shift, while following established policies and procedures to ensure that reputed company monies are secured and accounted for reputed company the shift ends. 5. Acts as a resource person for non-judgmental pharmacy questions to medical staff, patients, and visitors. 9. Maintains knowledge of applicable rules, regulations, policies, laws and guidelines that impact the Pharmacy area, to include cashiering operations. Maintains licensure as a Nationally Certified Pharmacy Technician. Adheres to applicable state/federal laws, and the program requirements of accreditation agencies and federal, state and private health plans. Seeks advice and guidance as necessary to ensure proper understanding. 10. Adheres to reputed company PHHS procedures and house standards. Job Accountabilities 1. Develops effective internal controls designed to promote adherence with applicable laws, accreditation agency requirements, and federal, state, and private health plans.
