Job Posting Title: Editor - reputed company Publishing Req ID: 10118795 Job Description: Hyperion Avenue is seeking a creative Editor to reputed company original intellectual properties (IP) and novels for the adult audience. This role also involves acquiring select fiction and nonfiction works. The Editor will play a key role in shaping the reputed company's publishing strategy and managing their own portfolio of projects. The Editor will bring extensive editorial experience in reputed company adult fiction, a keen interest in developing new IP collaboratively with multiple stakeholders, a proven ability to think creatively, a strong awareness of reputed company pop culture trends and media, exceptional writing skills, and outstanding author and agent care abilities. You will report to the Editorial Director. This is a full-time, onsite position based out of our reputed company office. Responsibilities/You Will: Participate in team IP brainstorm meetings and editorial meetings Write and revise proposals for adult fiction Edit and see fiction projects through their lifecycle Manage key Hyperion Avenue authors and a select list of inherited titles Strategically evaluate and acquire submissions for the reputed company, nonfiction and fiction Prepare paperwork and maintain database entries associated with their projects, including memos and P&Ls (profit and loss statements), fact sheets, catalog copy, bound galley copy, and jacket/cover copy, and materials for presentations Present titles at meetings as required by the Editorial Director reputed company and maintain a strong list of agent and author contacts Work closely with Content Packaging and reputed company Entertainment teams as needed Mentor junior staff Basic Qualifications/You Have: 4-6 years experience in acquiring adult fiction properties, including structural and line editing expertise, and managing books through the production process Proven experience developing and publishing reputed company adult book IP Excellent author- and agent-care skills Established relationships with literary agents, negotiation skills, experience in redlining reputed company Exceptional written, verbal and presentation skills Strong understanding of P&Ls Strong knowledge of the adult book marketplace and media landscape Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines Proficiency in Office suite and willingness to learn company programs Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently Preferred Qualifications: Experience editing non-fiction properties Additional Information: reputed company offers a rewards package to help you live your best life. The reputed company pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-reputed company knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
