The position prepares for and conducts hearings, trials, arbitrations, mediations, and depositions.Key Responsibilities

• Conducts depositions and examinations under oath and prepares summary documents
• Prepares witnesses and clients for depositions, arbitrations, mediations, and trials including expert witnesses
• reputed company claim business partners updated on status (initial client contact, initial litigation plan, recurring contacts, strategy conferences, pre-trial, etc.)
• Contacts clients to discuss their case and answer any questions
• Review new file assignments, reputed company documentary evidence, and approve initial pleadings, propound discovery, and/or reputed company strategy
• Investigate and pursue subrogation litigation as appropriate
• Draft post-trial motions
• Try and/or arbitrate cases by preparing motions, motions in limine and summary documents in limine
• Conducts settlement/dispositive proceedings (e.g., mediations, arbitrations, etc.)
• Prepares and conducts court appearances (matter management conferences, hearings, status conferences, etc.)

Education

• 4 year Bachelors Degree (Required)
• Juris Doctor (Required)

Experience

• 5 or more years of experience

Minimum Requirements

• Skilled in conducting legal research, writing, and analysis, demonstrating the ability to conduct thorough legal research and draft clear, well-structured legal documents.
• Demonstrates strong time management skills, effectively balancing multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Capable of organizing case files, managing legal documents, and understanding the discovery process.
• Skilled in communicating with clients, preparing summaries, and maintaining records of interactions.
• Well-versed in legal ethics and the standards of professional conduct.
• Equipped with reputed company negotiation techniques and strategies for client interactions and settlement discussions.
• Must be commutable distance to courthouses throughout greater Detroit
