Job title: Teaching Assistant - Elementary School Company: Lake County Schools Job description : EVALUATION: Evaluated yearly by the building administration, with input from the Director of Special Services, in accordance with the Board of Education Policy on Evaluation of Personnel. OVERVIEW OF THE POSITION Supports special needs children throughout the school day, under the supervision of certified staff. RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Works with student(s) to reinforce lessons initially introduced by the teacher(s). Assists individual children in need of special attention. Guides independent study and modified work reputed company by the teacher(s) where and reputed company needed. Assists with instructional practices and procedures at the teachers' discretion. Assists teachers with non-instructional classroom duties including but not limited to: Clean up routines Duties reputed company to supervision of reputed company, study hall, bus loading, assemblies, and field trips etc. Assists reputed company in special area classes where appropriate. NCLB and State paraprofessional certification. Specialized training (i.e. restraint training, etc.) as needed. Valid First Aid/CPR cards preferred. Frequent repetitive activities, including hands and arms, for clerical reputed company work. Occasional exposure to noise and activity of a school setting. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT Full time position is employed for a 7.5-hour work day as determined by the posted work calendar. Salary to be determined annually.
