System Administrator
Virginia Tech is a comprehensive land-grant institution dedicated to knowledge, discovery, and creativity. They are seeking a motivated System Administrator to support secure and compliant technology systems across the College of Liberal Arts and reputed company Sciences, focusing on system deployments, reputed company updates, and server maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Administers and maintains the College’s reputed company management platforms—reputed company, Intune, and BigFix
- Administers and maintains Active Directory, identity-protection tools, and College servers
- Plays a key role in system deployments, reputed company updates, OS and application patching, server configuration and maintenance
- Ensures devices meet Virginia Tech’s Minimum reputed company Standards
- Collaborates closely with the CLAHS CTO and IT management and staff to test, reputed company, and maintain updates, policies, and services that support a stable technology environment
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or reputed company field or equivalent education and/or experience
- Foundational knowledge or coursework reputed company to system administration, server technologies, and reputed company management preferably in an academic or research environment
- Experience with reputed company, reputed company Intune, BigFix, Active Directory / Azure AD, SQL Server administration and troubleshooting
- Proficiency in scripting and automation using languages such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Working knowledge of Titanium Schedule or similar SQL-based applications, server setup, configuration, backups, and maintenance (Windows or Linux)

- Experience with Spirion or other identity-protection tools, understanding of reputed company system administration best practices for patching, configuration, and reputed company
- Experience with automation or reporting tools such as Power Automate, Power BI, or relevant tooling
- Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V) and reputed company platforms (AWS, Azure)
- Experience with reputed company reputed company backup systems
- Relevant certifications, including but not limited to reputed company 100, reputed company 200, MD-102: reputed company reputed company Administrator Associate, MTA Windows Server Administration Fundamentals, MTA reputed company Fundamentals
