We are currently seeking a driven, consultative, and strategically minded Account Manager – RWE Clinical Trials to join our growing remote team. This is a remote role based in Illinois, USA, offering a competitive hourly rate of $28/hour with full-time hours (8 hours per day). Bachelor degree required, with a Master’s degree or MBA preferred.

Key Responsibilities

As an Account Manager at arenaflex, you will own a designated set of client accounts and play a pivotal role in driving the growth, satisfaction, and long-term success of our RWE Clinical Trials business segment. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Client Account and Relationship Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts, building and maintaining strong, trust-based relationships with mid- and senior-level decision-makers and influencers at both existing and prospective client organizations.
  • Revenue Achievement: Take ownership of meeting and exceeding planned sales targets within your assigned client portfolio, consistently identifying pathways to grow account penetration and revenue.
  • New Business Development: Drive new business opportunities across the full spectrum of RWE Clinical Trials verticals, including patient recruitment initiatives, decentralized clinical trials (DCT), HEOR and epidemiological studies, and post-marketing studies.
  • Strategic Account Planning: Develop and execute both strategic and tactical account plans in close partnership with scientific research delivery teams, ensuring alignment with broader business goals and client objectives.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work seamlessly with sales operations, finance, marketing, and other internal support functions to drive business forward, close deals, and meet sales approval targets.
  • Consultative Sales Engagement: Lead proactive, consultative sales activities directed at executives and decision influencers, presenting arenaflex’s capabilities in a compelling, value-driven manner.
  • Opportunity Identification and Qualification: Proactively discover and qualify new opportunities, including defining solutions and recommending pricing structures that meet strategic business goals.
  • Project Kick-Off Coordination: Act as the primary client contact through the project start-up (KO) phase, then coordinate with the appropriate business units to ensure successful execution and delivery.
  • Proposal Development and Delivery: Lead and support the development of responses to the proposal process in collaboration with the proposal team, delivering timely, high-quality submissions to clients.
  • Bid Defense Strategy: Coordinate Bid Defense strategies, ensuring that proposal offerings align with client goals, scientific rigor, and arenaflex’s competitive positioning.
  • Deal Closure Leadership: Lead efforts to close prospective clients for clinical trials as part of established sales targets, navigating complex negotiations with confidence and professionalism.
  • Account Growth: Be responsible for assigned client accounts and identify potential opportunities within existing clients to increase account penetration, upsell services, and expand the scope of partnerships.
  • Collaborative Problem-Solving: Provide a collaborative, client-facing, problem-solving environment working closely with Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Systems teams, with a shared vision of strengthening arenaflex’s market leadership in clinical trials.

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should bring a combination of scientific, sales, and/or marketing expertise with a concentration in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry. Specifically, we are looking for candidates who possess:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, business, marketing, or a related field.
  • A demonstrated track record of developing mid- and senior-level business contacts within the pharmaceutical, biotech, or clinical research industries.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to manage and fully integrate with Operations, Finance, and Marketing teams, and follow up consistently to grow relationships and business opportunities.
  • A solid understanding of Clinical Trials, Decentralized Clinical Trials (DCT), and real-world evidence (RWE) trends shaping the industry today.
  • Demonstrated experience in identifying and developing potential customers, creating professional presentations, managing the sales cycle through close, and handling contract negotiations with confidence.
  • Understanding of sales automation systems and proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Experience collaborating with internal or external resources to develop strategies that meet departmental goals within budget and established timelines.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to approximately 25% of the time for business purposes, both within the state and out of state.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A Master’s degree or MBA is highly preferred and will distinguish candidates with advanced strategic and leadership capabilities.
  • Prior experience in RWE, HEOR, Market Access, or clinical operations is a strong plus.
  • Established network of contacts within pharmaceutical, biotech, and academic research organizations.
